New Class S
A new class S has been created for the class A cars that found themselves in class X which has limitations. As such these cars would be excluded and had a negative impact on classics. As such, the promoters allowed and created class S so as to still allow such cars to provide spectator value all while points can still be obtained for the competitors.
December race event.
Please be aware that the December race WILL count towards the classic car championship this year. Due to the world cup soccer event, race dates had to be changed and some were later added resulting in the race status change for December.

With only a little more than a week left till 'Go Go Go' a lot is happening in and around the racing circles. The entry list is looking healthier with still a possible few late comers that may arrive as per usual. Dave Alhadeff (Alfa GT Junior) will no doubt be pushing for time as he suffered a huge blow up 'par excellence' on the main straight of Aldo Scribante and will need very bit of support and assistance if he is to retain the current championship lead on 72 points. Breathing down his neck in second place is Keith Andrews (Alfa GTV) who has showed consistency still pays dividends while a 3-way tie exists for 3rd place between Derek Wilsnagh (Anglia), Sandro Biccari (Scirroco) and Ian Richards (Datsun GX Coupe). Other interesting entries is that of Ferdi van Niekerk (Snr) who has entered in the Porsche 911, Ferdi van Niekerk (Jnr) in the newly revived Alfa GTA as is the return of Peter Gough in his Escort 'Mexico' who was last seen turning a wheel in anger in December of 2008. Class C should no doubt be of interest with the return of both Greg Sinden (Capri RS), Sean Le Riche (Escort Mk2) and 'Squadra Napoli' in a much nippier Alfasud. Let's hope they all make it on the day.

As more clarity has now been received concerning the rules from 2011 onwards, this should put aside any uncertainties that were of major concern and will now allow many to once again don their overalls, dust off their race machinery and once again grace our track with their presence. In addition a further class has been created that of class S so as to accommodate those vehicles which otherwise would have been eliminated due to class X restrictions. This will therefore allow the faster cars who exceed the 1:23.5 cut-off time a chance to still score points and ensure that they still participate and provide spectator value. As such we can once again look forward to seeing the Can-Am of Anton Rolino, the Porsche RSR of Keith Rose, the Datsun 140Z of Martin Richards and the blue lightning streak Ford Capri of Trevor Momberg back on track. By all counts then we can expect one of the fuller grids of the season thus far and all are eager to once again compete with fellow race participant. This is the third last race of the championship and points are vital at this stage of the championship.

See you all there on the 4th September for the next event.
